Well it's been quite some time since Deb and I have been able to take a nice leisurely ride on the motorcycle. But after the previous evening’s event we really needed to get out and forget about it and just enjoy the day with some good friends. The ride destination this time was out to the Desert View Tower near Jacumba, CA. Although we’ve been there multiple times over the years, it’s always fun to go see it again and the ride as fantastic. If you’re looking for an excuse for a good ride to get out of the city… this is a good place to go visit.
After poking around for an hour or so… we back-tracked into Jacumba where there is a fantastic place to eat. Jay’s Southern Café has got to be one of the best BBQ place in Southern California. The owners Jacari and Ashley Cousins are wonderful people and Jay really knows how to cook up something spectacular for you. The best way to get there of course is to stay off the freeway. Take the back roads as there’s a lot to see along the way since the roads tend to follow the land rather than cut through it. It still surprised me to this day how many people live in San Diego and yet don’t have a clue of the beauty of the back roads.
