I prepared this article for publication in May 2018.  However, the Microsoft Windows 10 update decided to crash my computer before I could post the article.  So, here’s a few things I observed and decided to share.

WINDOWS 10 UPDATE:

The forced updated crashed my computer to black screen (much worse than blue).  It took me weeks, during my off time (two jobs; one for me, another for those who refuse to work but demand support), to finally get the computer to boot to safe mode with internet.  Microsoft’s “help” portal defaults to their new ‘Virtual Assistant in Training’ where it asks for the error code.  What error code, the computer went to black screen!  I could not even get into the log files to find a damn code!

It took a lot more digging on the internet to find a phone number (800-642-7676) which resulted in an endless loop of transfers and hold until an actual person seemed able to help.  Unfortunately, they wanted $259 to fix the problem.  WTF?  Your update caused the problem, now I have to pay more for you to fix it?

A lot more internet research and a couple of free program (usb style) downloads later finally allowed me to fix my computer.  I was afraid I would have to reset the computer to factory settings (thereby losing all of my data), then reload all programs.  Ransom Ware has nothing on this scenario.

Are we looking at a possible ‘Class Action’ lawsuit?

TELEVANGILISTS NEED NEW PRIVATE JETS:

Justification 1:  God told me I need the jet and that if Jesus were on earth today he wouldn’t be riding a donkey.  Maybe not, but he wouldn’t have a jet.  He would probably Uber!

Justification 2:  Flying commercial, I get overwhelmed by people wanting prayer requests.  Isn’t praying with your followers’ part of your religious tenets?

Justification 3:  I need to get to more cities faster in order to reach more people.  Does that translate; more cities, more services, more ‘donations’ coming in to your tax exempt ministry?

HOMELESS BEGGARS ON EXIT RAMPS & STREET CORNERS:

Has anyone else noticed that almost all of them have changed their signs to, ‘Combat Disabled/Homeless Vets’?  Even the ones that used to have signs reading ‘Homelss/Hungry’.

A few are ‘Willing to Work’, but if you have a help clean up my yard job for them – hell no!

Another observation:  If you give them an envelope with a generic work application, they REALLY get pissed off!

Also, a vast majority seem to have smart phones (which I can't afford).  Who’s paying for that (most likely those of us who have jobs and pay taxes – which pay for their phones)?

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT LOSES MIGRANT CHILDREN:

News reports keep pointing the finger at multiple agencies.  Said agencies keep pointing the finger at each other.  That’s bureaucracy in action.  Maybe they should have given each child a smart phone (just like the 'homeless').  That way, they could be tracked via gps.  I'd rather pay for the kids than the adults!

CROSS CONTINENTAL PIPELINES:

If we can create a cross continental pipeline for oil and/or natural gas, why can’t we create one to bring water from the flooding East Coast to the draught troubled West Coast?

ALEXA, SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE CLOUD:

Hacks, data breaches, and life in the ‘digital’ age.  We give control of our data to others and are still shocked when it’s compromised.  Yes, it can all be fun and ‘ease’ your life.  However, you need to remember that using it means you have chosen to live in a fishbowl for all to see.

SCHOOL SHOOTINGS AND GUN CONTROL:

Yes it’s abhorrent and increasing swiftly.  However, why does everyone run to the federal government for ‘corrective’ action and not their state/local authorities?

The feds love it when you run to them as it gives them more power.

People should realize that THEY (the individual) have more control at the state/local level.  Think about it.  State and local is closer to where you live (e.g.; face-to-face, your next door neighbor) vice Federal in Washington, D.C.
